World Cancer Research UK announced their lastest press release on March 8th 2004.

Don't double-deck your weight
Charity's bus campaign warns about the obesity-cancer link

Although we at Big People UK recognise the links between obesity and cancer we feel that this type of advertising is derogatory and discriminatory. We feel that their message could be put forward in a far more sensitive way and thereby more then likely gaining positive support. This type of advertising only reinforces today’s attitudes and negative imagery of larger people.

I am disgusted with the campaign from cancer research about obesity and the link with cancer. We the larger people take enough stick from the public at large already, I have been donating to this cause for years and they are quite happy to take my money they dont care if your fat /thin where this is concerned, well they have just lost my support and my monthly contribution and I shall be writing to them to them with the reason why.
